On a flight from Los Angeles to New York, a blonde lady and a lawyer end up seated next to each other. The lawyer suggests playing a fun game.
The blonde politely declines, opting instead to move to the window for some much-needed sleep, as she is feeling tired.
However, the lawyer persists, saying that the game is easy and entertaining.
He explains, “I’ll ask you a question, and if you don’t know the answer, you give me $5.00. If I can’t answer, I’ll pay you $5.00.”
She turns him down again, trying to catch some rest.
Frustrated, the lawyer adds, “If you can’t answer, you owe me $5.00, but if I can’t answer, I’ll give you $500.00.”
Intrigued by the stakes, the blonde agrees to play, thinking that if she doesn’t, the annoyance might continue.
The lawyer’s first question is, “What’s the distance from the Earth to the Moon?”
In response, the blonde takes out $5.00 from her purse and hands it to him without saying a word.
“Okay,” the lawyer says, “now it’s your turn.”
She then asks him, “What goes up a hill with three legs and comes down with four?”
The lawyer, clearly stumped, pulls out his laptop to research but finds no answers.
After connecting to the in-flight internet and searching various resources, including the Library of Congress, he still comes up empty.
In his frustration, he emails all his contacts but receives no helpful replies.
An hour later, he wakes up the blonde and hands her $500.00, having given up.
“Thanks,” she says before drifting off again.
The lawyer then asks, “What’s the answer?” a bit annoyed.
The blonde simply takes out $5.00 from her purse and hands it to him before going back to sleep without a word.
