Sometimes, living with someone can lead to a moment when they do something so outrageous that you’re left speechless. For instance, they might splurge on an expensive watch while the family can barely afford food, or they might complain that dinner isn’t good enough. The individuals in this article share the actions that became the breaking point in their relationships.

One man experienced a severe health scare when his blood pressure soared to 200. Fearing a stroke, he asked his wife to call an ambulance. Instead, she laughed and dismissed his concerns, saying that men with a mild fever often act like they’re dying. While he managed to lower his blood pressure with medication before help arrived, the paramedics mocked him, and his wife joined in, calling him a drama queen. This made him realize that he could be in serious danger with her, leading him to decide on divorce. He ultimately followed through and felt no regret.

A friend of mine initially showered his wife with gifts after each child’s birth—a car for their daughter, a country house for twins, and another car for their youngest son. However, just six months later, he abandoned her and their four children, taking back all the gifts when DNA tests revealed he wasn’t the biological father.

In April, I reminded my husband that we needed to buy shoes for our son. Instead, he came home bragging about a new wristwatch he had bought on credit, claiming it was a gift from me for our anniversary. He had no intention of giving me anything since we were short on money. Frustrated, I realized our relationship was deteriorating, and by July, I filed for divorce. After he left, I felt much more financially stable.

On our wedding day, my mother-in-law refused to sit at the main table with my husband, instead making passive-aggressive remarks about how he was her favorite child and hinting that I was the reason for her absence. This behavior turned my husband against her, and they have had no contact since, except for two brief meetings.

When I learned that my grandfather had passed away, I was devastated and shared the news with my husband. He briefly looked away from his computer and coldly remarked, “So what, he was old,” before returning to his game. This indifference had been a pattern throughout our marriage, where he prioritized his computer over our relationship. That night, I decided to ask for a divorce and moved into a rented apartment a week later, ignoring all his attempts to reconcile. I never regretted that choice.

The final straw for me was during my gynecological surgery. Living in Japan made it hard to find a good doctor, so I traveled to my home country for the procedure. After the surgery, I asked my husband to meet me at the airport since I couldn’t carry my heavy suitcase. He didn’t show up. Taxis were too expensive, and after three months of not working, I had to take the train home. When I arrived, there was no food, and he expected me to cook for him while demanding half of the rent and utilities for the time I was away. I discovered he had quit his job and was in debt. That’s when my feelings for him faded. After a month of pain and fever from carrying my suitcase, I filed for divorce.

My boyfriend moved into the apartment I was renting, and since we worked together and planned to marry, we decided to share our finances. I ended up covering most of our living expenses while he saved his salary for a future home. I took on all the household duties, cooking his favorite meals and cleaning up after him, even when he wasted food. I was frustrated but thought it was normal. However, the last straw came when I was sick in bed with a fever, and he came home complaining that dinner wasn’t ready. I told him to leave, and he moved out a few days later, taking the savings we had built together.

My husband’s jealousy was suffocating. He forbade me from greeting male neighbors, insisting they were all my lovers. After our son was born, he became increasingly picky about food. One day, after I served him soup, he threw it across the room, screaming that it was too hot. The breaking point came when he threw a plate of dumplings in the trash. I realized I couldn’t take it anymore, filed for divorce, and when he begged me to stay, I asked him why he treated me that way. He simply replied, “Because you let me.”

I had been with my husband since childhood and we had two beautiful children together. He came from a wealthy family, while I did not, which led my mother-in-law to believe I was with him for his money. During a recent family dinner at her house, my son complained about something prickling his tongue. To my horror, I discovered
