Vivek Ramaswamy Steps Down from Role in Department of Government Efficiency
Vivek Ramaswamy, who was appointed by former President Trump as co-chair of the newly established Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), has decided not to assume the role. Sources confirmed his departure just hours after the news broke about his appointment, indicating he is no longer affiliated with DOGE.
Ramaswamy, a biotech entrepreneur and former presidential candidate, was instrumental in creating DOGE alongside Elon Musk. However, he will need to step away from the position due to the organizational structure of the department.

His decision comes on the heels of Ohio Governor Mike DeWine appointing Jon Husted to the Senate, which has sparked Ramaswamy’s ambition to run for governor of Ohio. He is expected to formally announce his candidacy for the gubernatorial race next week.
After a disappointing finish in the Iowa caucuses during his presidential campaign, Ramaswamy has shifted his focus to state-level politics, becoming a vocal supporter of Trump. His alignment with Trump may strengthen his appeal in Ohio, a red state, as he seeks to position himself for a successful gubernatorial run.
