Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, is known for the bloodiest battle of the American Civil War, where thousands of soldiers died, making the area reputedly haunted. It is also the site where President Abraham Lincoln delivered his famous Gettysburg Address.
For over 150 years, Gettysburg has been considered haunted. The battle marked Confederate General Robert E. Lee’s final invasion of the North, where he was turned back by Union troops.
Recently, Greg Yuelling of New Jersey claimed to have captured a ghost sighting at the battleground, now a national park, on September 2, 2022.
Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address, delivered on November 19, 1863, commemorated the battlefield:
“Four score and seven years ago, our fathers brought forth on this continent, a new nation, conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal… The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here, but it can never forget what they did here… that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom…”
Modern technology continues to capture more ghost sightings, like the one from Gettysburg.
