Elon Musk has been in the news quite frequently recently, mostly because of the work he is doing with the United States government. He also is still busy taking care of the social media platform, Twitter (X), and of course, with his space program as well.
Among all of the different businesses that Elon Musk is running is Tesla. That business is now spiraling out of control in the wrong direction and many people feel that Musk is to blame for it. In fact, a top Tesla investor has called for him to remove himself as a CEO to help save the company.
That investor says that the focus Musk has on the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) for Trump’s administration has pulled him away from the business.
Musk is also becoming a controversial public figure, which has had a negative impact on the business as well.
Since December, Tesla’s market value has dropped more than $800 billion. It is likely to drop further, as boycotts and protests against Tesla and Musk continue to happen regularly.
Ross Gerber, the investor who is insisting that Musk step down said: “The company’s reputation has just been destroyed by Elon Musk.
“Sales are plummeting so, yeah, it’s a crisis. You literally can’t sell the best product in the market place because the CEO is so divisive.
“It’s time for somebody to run Tesla. The business has been neglected for too long. There are too many important things Tesla is doing, so either Elon should come back to Tesla and be the CEO of Tesla and give up his other jobs or he should focus on the government and keep doing what he is doing but find a suitable CEO of Tesla.”
“I think Tesla needs a new CEO and I decided today I was going to start saying it and so this is the first show that I’m saying it on. It’s time for somebody to run Tesla.
“The business has been neglected for too long. There are too many important things Tesla is doing, so either Elon should come back to Tesla and be the CEO of Tesla and give up his other jobs or he should focus on the government and keep doing what he is doing but find a suitable CEO of Tesla.”
It’s a fairly strong statement, and we are still waiting for Musk to address the comments publicly.
